Statement on Canada-U.S. tariffs

The federal government’s decision to drop most retaliatory tariffs against U.S. goods was a necessary step to preserve and strengthen our preferential trade relationship with our most important trading partner. While there is more work to be done to resolve tariffs in strategic sectors, Canada’s priority must be the successful review and renewal of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement.
