Business Council of Canada Welcomes The Honourable Janice Charette as Senior Strategic Advisor
The Business Council of Canada (BCC) is pleased to welcome The Honourable Janice Charette, P.C., C.M., as Senior Strategic Advisor.
Ms. Charette brings an extraordinary record of public service leadership, policy expertise, and executive management to the BCC. Over a distinguished career spanning nearly four decades, she has served at the highest levels of Canada’s public service and diplomacy, including as Clerk of the Privy Council and Secretary to the Cabinet – the most senior position in the federal public service – and as Canada’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
Twice appointed Clerk of the Privy Council, Ms. Charette guided the federal public service through periods of profound global and domestic challenge, providing steady leadership and sound governance. As Canada’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, she strengthened bilateral relations, advanced trade and investment priorities, and deepened Canada’s global partnerships.
“Janice is a trusted leader with deep insight into how decisions are made and how Canada can best position itself for success in an increasingly complex world,” said Goldy Hyder, President and CEO of the Business Council of Canada. “Her knowledge of the machinery of government, intergovernmental relations, and public-sector transformation will support our ongoing mission to promote policies that foster economic growth, competitiveness, and shared prosperity for all Canadians.”
