Marc Desormeaux Joins the Business Council of Canada as Vice-President, Policy and Economist
The Business Council of Canada (BCC) is pleased to welcome Marc Desormeaux as vice-president, policy and economist. In this role, Marc will lead the Council’s work on labour markets, demographics and artificial intelligence. As the Council’s in-house economist, he will also provide analysis on broader macroeconomic and fiscal policy issues.
Marc has spent his career helping leaders navigate Canada’s most complex business and public policy challenges. He has held senior economist roles at two of Canada’s largest financial institutions and most recently served as chief economic adviser to Ontario’s Minister of Finance.
Fluently bilingual, Marc is available for media commentary and analysis in both official languages.
“Canada is at a pivotal moment, and getting economic policy right has never mattered more,” said Goldy Hyder, president and CEO of the Business Council of Canada. “Marc’s experience across government and finance will be instrumental as we shape policy ideas that help Canada compete, grow and thrive in a rapidly changing world.”
