Statement on Trade Negotiations with the United States

We trust our government and our negotiating team in determining what is in the best interests of Canada and we thank them for their efforts.
Canadian business leaders have long recognized that no deal is better than a bad deal.
We remain hopeful that Canada and the United States will eventually find common ground.
Today, however, our focus must be on strengthening Canada and our economy for all Canadians. We must also support those directly impacted by U.S. tariffs.
This is a time for all Canadians to stand united. History has shown us that when we all work together, we can achieve great things. We stand ready to do so.
