Ian Edwards is President and Chief Executive Officer of AtkinsRéalis, a worldclass engineering services and nuclear company, setting the strategic course of the organization while positioning it for long-term leadership and impact.

Since assuming the role in 2019, he has driven a clear and disciplined reset—sharpening the company’s focus on its core strengths in nuclear energy and engineering, design, and professional services, while uniting the organization around a culture of excellence, innovation, safety, collaboration, and integrity. With people and purpose at the heart of this transformation, Ian has fostered an environment where sustainable solutions connect people, data, and technology to engineer a better future for the planet and its people.

In 2023, Ian led a significant milestone for the company, unifying the company’s businesses and legacy brands under the single AtkinsRéalis name. More than a change in identity, the rebrand reflected a deeper shift: a clearer strategy, a stronger culture, and a renewed focus on delivering meaningful outcomes for clients, communities, and society.

With the foundations firmly in place, Ian is now focused on the next decade of growth and leadership for AtkinsRéalis. He is guiding the company toward solving the world’s most complex and consequential engineering challenges—across infrastructure and energy, where technical expertise can have the greatest positive impact on people’s lives.

Ian possesses more than three decades of global leadership experience across complex infrastructure and major projects. Recognizing his visionary leadership, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce awarded Ian the International Business Leader of the Year Award in 2024. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers and member of the World Economic Forum Governor’s Engineering and Construction Community, the Business Council of Canada and the Wall Street Journal CEO Council.
