Damon Murchison is President and CEO of IGM Financial and IG Wealth Management. A respected leader within the IGM family of companies, he was appointed President and CEO of IGM Financial in July 2026 after building a distinguished career across the organization.

Since becoming President and CEO of IG Wealth Management in 2020, Damon has played a pivotal role in advancing the company’s strategic direction. Prior to that, as Executive Vice-President, Head of Retail Distribution at Mackenzie Investments, he led the firm’s retail sales, alliance and group sales businesses.

Driven by a strong belief that more than ever, Canadians need access to high-quality, comprehensive and integrated financial planning and asset management, Damon is committed to ensuring IGM remains at the forefront of helping Canadians achieve better financial outcomes.

As President and CEO of IG Wealth Management, Damon leads one of Canada’s largest independent wealth management organizations. In 2026, the firm is celebrating its 100th anniversary, marking a century of helping Canadians build financial confidence. Today, IG serves more than one million Canadians and manages over $160 billion in assets through a nationwide network of more than 3,000 financial advisors.

With more than three decades of leadership experience in financial services, Damon has held increasingly senior roles across several of Canada’s leading financial institutions. In addition to serving on the board of IGM Financial, he contributes to a number of organizations dedicated to strengthening communities and expanding opportunity, including the George Brown College Foundation, the BlackNorth Initiative and the United Way of Winnipeg.

Damon holds a BA in Economics from Western University and an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western.
