Jack Uppal is appointed President and Managing Director of GM Canada. Jack returns to his home country after more than a decade of international leadership experience across China, India, Singapore, and the Middle East, most recently as the President and Managing Director GM Africa & Middle East. Jack will report to Senior Vice President and President of GM North America, Duncan Aldred.
In his new role, Jack will focus on continuing to strengthen GM Canada’s market leadership, expand GM’s presence in key markets, and partner with key stakeholders to unlock new growth opportunities for the business.
During the past 24 years, Jack has held senior leadership roles across multiple global markets, spanning sales, marketing, customer experience, strategic planning, and brand management, including in Canada, where he began his career with GM in 2001. Under his leadership, GM Africa & Middle East delivered continued volume and share growth and sustainable financial performance. Jack spearheaded the turnaround of the GM Egypt business, driving investment in two Chevrolet passenger vehicles and marking Chevrolet’s return to the passenger segment.
