Hitoshi graduated from Tokyo University with a Bachelor of Economics in 1992, and started his career at Mitsubishi Corporation. He has been engaged in trading and investments mainly in the oil, chemicals and energy sectors during his career of over 30 years with the company, which includes the 5-year assignment in New York from 2002. He also completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School in 2021. Most recently, Hitoshi was the head of Mitsubishi Corporation’s Kyushu Region operations.
Hitoshi speaks Japanese and English fluently and currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Vancouver Japanese Business Association of Commerce and Industry (Konwakai). He lives in Vancouver and is married with two children.
