A graduate of Université Laval and INSEAD, Stéphane Bérubé distinguished himself early in his career when he was named to Marketing Magazine’s prestigious “30 Under 30” list. He joined L’Oréal Canada in 2002 in a marketing leadership role at Maybelline New York. From the outset, his bold partnership with Star Académie made a lasting impression and earned him the title of “Marketer of the Year” in 2004 — a first milestone that set the stage for a remarkable rise within the L’Oréal Group. In 2007, he took the helm of L’Oréal Paris, the Group’s flagship brand.
Appointed Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) in 2014, he led the digital transformation of the Canadian subsidiary, establishing it as a model of innovation. This success opened the door to an international chapter in 2017, when he took on the role of CMO for the United Kingdom and Western Europe, based in London.
Returning to Canada in 2019, he assumed the presidency of the Consumer Products Division — home to L’Oréal Paris, Garnier, NYX, Maybelline New York, Thayers and Essie — the strategic engine of L’Oréal Canada. Under his leadership, the division achieved nearly 50% revenue growth, a remarkable acceleration in e-commerce, and significant market share gains.
Today, as President & CEO of L’Oréal Canada, he embodies the Group’s purpose — Creating beauty that moves the world — with an unwavering commitment to connecting brands with the diverse needs and aspirations of Canadian consumers.
A Quebecer at heart, Canadian in vision, and a citizen of the world by calling, Stéphane is a bold leader with a keen sense for what is emerging and an eye always fixed on what lies ahead.
Committed well beyond the business world, he has served for over ten years on the Board of Directors of the Fondation En Cœur, an organization dedicated to supporting children with heart disease and their families.
