As President of Mitsui Canada, Mr. Mitsui is responsible for the strategy and operations of Mitsui & Co. in Canada, overseeing two Canadian offices. His responsibilities include developing the company’s growth strategy and developing new businesses and industrial partnerships, enhancing Mitsui’s local presence and social contributions (CSR), and providing global functional support.
Mr. Mitsui has extensive experience in logistics and transportation. He has worked in various positions at Mitsui and Penske Truck Leasing, including General Manager of Freight Mobility Solution Business Division and Deputy General Manager of Motor Vehicles Division. His responsibilities have included overseeing accounts, facilitating relationship management, developing new business opportunities, and expanding the customer base among Japanese accounts in general and Mitsui’s affiliates and business partners. Prior to his current role, Mr. Mitsui was overseeing Penske related accounts and facilitating overall relationship management, overseeing Mitsui’s logistics company in Brazil and India, and developing new freight mobility solution business in Asian countries.
With a dedicated career over 30 years at Mitsui, Mr. Mitsui currently oversees Mitsui Canada’s steel, mobility, chemical, natural resources, energy & mineral resources, and food business departments as well as corporate functions. He holds a degree from the law faculty at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan.
