Ron Mannix, OC, AOE, B.Comm, LLD (Hon), is Chairman Emeritus, Founder and Shareholder of Coril Holdings Ltd., which is involved in global investments and the venture capital business, railroad maintenance equipment, manufacturing, and contract service business globally, along with real estate ownership, property management and development principally in Canada and Australia.
The roots of the family business go back to 1898 (125 years in 2023) and have included heavy construction, engineering, coal mining, oil and gas exploration, production and pipelining, railroad building, services and equipment manufacturing, real estate ownership, asset management, property management and development, ranching and venture capital activities. He is a member of the Business Council of Canada, and Founder, Director and Vice-Chairman of the Business Council of Alberta (BCA). In addition to being a past Chairman and Member of the Max Bell, Carthy and Norlien Foundation. He is currently the Founder, Chairman, Member and Director of the M-E Squared and National Music Centre Foundations (NMC).
He has previously been a Director of the Bank of Montreal (22 years), Canfor Corporation (7 years), Manalta Coal Ltd. (23 years), Pembina Corporation (20 years), Coril Holdings Ltd. (20 years) and The Coal Association of Canada.
Mr. Mannix is most proud of perpetuating his family business, the creation of the BCA and the National Music Centre.
