Pierre Pomerleau
Président et chef de la direction
Pomerleau inc.
Pierre is President and CEO of Pomerleau. As well, he is directly involved in two companies that are part of the Pomerleau Group, namely as a co-owner of Groupe Beaubois, a leader specializing in architectural woodwork, and as a company director of Borea Construction, a leader in renewable energy construction.
He began his career at Pomerleau in 1989, becoming involved in the management of the company, as well as its real estate and manufacturing subsidiaries, before succeeding his father, Hervé Pomerleau, as President and CEO in 1997.
As leader of the company, Pierre has implemented new management policies, created a board of directors with a majority of members from outside, relaxed the administrative structures, and increased responsibilities of its key executives. His business vision has led the company to become a pioneer in virtual design and construction (VDC), a leader in innovation for the Canadian construction industry. Under his leadership, Pomerleau has grown considerably, from slightly more than $100 million in sales in 1997 to surpassing $3 billion in 2021. Since 2004, Pomerleau has been recognized by Deloitte among Canada’s 50 Best Managed companies and in 2020 was named one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers.
He holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from the École Polytechnique de Montréal and a Master of Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
Pierre is active in several associations, including the Young Presidents’ Organization, the Cercle des Présidents du Québec and the Business Council of Canada. He sits on the board of Richelieu Hardware.
A committed and generous philanthropist, he believes in giving back to the communities.
He is also personally involved in numerous organizations and every year accepts the privilege to serve as an honorary president for a cause he holds dear. This year, he has chosen the Bal du MAC and next year it will be Ste Justine Hospital’s Cachou golf tournament.
